Industry 4.0 and ICT, in the Maintenance spotlight

The International Industrial Maintenance Fair will be held at BEC from 4 to 6 June

Industry 4.0 will play an important role at the International Industrial Maintenance Fair to be held at the Bilbao Exhibition Centre from 4 to 6 June. In this way, attendees will find out about the latest developments in ICT and smart tools applied to company inspection and maintenance in the conference sessions.

The Maintenance conferences provide an excellent opportunity to find out about the state-of-the-art industrial maintenance technology with the best success stories. The three blocks programmed along these lines will focus on aspects such as Electronic Maintenance, which will address the 4.0 strategy, and big data, predictive analysis, and smart maintenance services. There will also be a discussion on how the work is done and maintenance servitization as part of Asset Management. Finally, in Condition Monitoring Technologies, the talk will revolve around smart sensors and data acquisition, as well as smart tools, drones and robotics applied to the sector. The IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things) and Internet Condition Monitoring will also be addressed, a process to identify a significant change in the machinery which could indicate that it has a fault.

The conferences will be held in the Conference Theatre by Spri during the morning and afternoon of 5 June. The Basque Business Development Agency will also offer a Basque Industry 4.0 by Spri cocktail party on 4 June.

EXHIBITION AREA AT 80%

Maintenance also has an exhibition area in addition to the extensive conference programme, and 80% of the space has already been reserved by companies who wish to present their activities, latest developments and experience in order to contribute to the sector. The list of confirmed exhibitors includes companies such as Hydropyc, a company that works on the engineering, design, assembly, commercialisation and repair of hydraulic systems and components for the industrial and mobile sector; Aeromarine, which will be exhibiting its maintenance management software; Power Drive, a manufacturer of drive products for high technology applications; BASF, which provides industrial solutions for the chemical sector; Predycsa, which specialises in machine failure root cause diagnostics and solutions; and Globalgit, an industrial automation company.

Along with the remaining exhibitors, these companies will be able to benefit from the Innovation Workshops, brief presentations of less than 15 minutes in which the companies can present their latest developments and case studies. They will be held at the Speaker’s Corner in the centre of the exhibition area, and are open to all trade show visitors.

As with the two previous editions of the biennial event, a technical visit to a leading company in the Basque Autonomous Community will be organised on 5 June. Petronor, Praxair and Bahía de Bizkaia Gas-Electricidad have been visited in previous years. The Maintenance organising team is currently finalising the details of the programmed outing for this year.

The companies registered to visit the trade show include those such as Acciona Agua, Agrozumos, Bahía de Bizkaia Gas y Electricidad, Bridgestone Hispania, CAF Turnkey & Engineering, CIE Automotive, Coca-Cola Iberian Partners, Cofely España S.A.U., Laboratorios Grifols, Nestle, Pescanova, Siemens Gamesa, ZF Sachs, and many more.

A new addition to this year’s Maintenance fair will be the Open Meetings, sponsored by the fair itself, in which exhibitors and purchasers will be able to make contact and establish the links they believe may be suitable for future business between them.

Maintenance is sponsored by Ondoan and Fieldeas, and is one of the seven fairs that form part of the +Industry platform, which will turn the Bilbao Exhibition Centre into the largest meeting point for Industry from 4 to 6 June.
